Stop the timer. On the millisecond.

TimerBattle is a free timer game that tests your reaction time and timing. A target appears, the clock runs, and you stop it as close to the target as you can, right in your browser. Thousands of rounds in, only a few dozen were stopped at exactly 0 ms.

What is a reaction time game?

A reaction time game measures how quickly and how precisely you respond to a stimulus. In TimerBattle the stimulus is time itself: you stop a running timer as close as possible to a target between 2 and 6 seconds. The smaller the gap in milliseconds, the better the grade, so timing accuracy and reflex control are the skills that count.

  1. 01See the target. A random time between 2 and 6 seconds, for example 3.385.
  2. 02Start the timer. Tap. A ring fills toward the target, then fades, so you have to feel the rest.
  3. 03Stop it. Tap again. Early or late, the gap in milliseconds sets your grade and your points.

How the timer game is scored

Every round lands somewhere on this line.

The closer to the middle, the better the grade. Points per round: 100 × (1 − miss ÷ 250 ms). The percentages are how often our players land in each zone.

Perfect
≤ 20 ms · 10.8%
Excellent
≤ 75 ms · 25.2%
Good
≤ 120 ms · 15.8%

≤ 250 ms · 24.5%

Reaction time data from real players

What thousands of rounds taught us.

We looked at every daily challenge and championship round our players have played. Three things stood out.

  1. 01Longer targets aren’t harder while you can see the clock: 109–118 ms at every length from 2 to 6 seconds.
  2. 02Short targets run late, long ones early. On 5-second targets 55% of stops come too soon.
  3. 03Your first round is your worst. In the daily challenge it misses by 126 ms, the rest by 113–121.

Reflex training that feels like a game.

TimerBattle works as a reaction time trainer: a few rounds a day, a clear number after every tap, and a typical miss you can watch shrink. Players who kept at it missed about 30% less by games five to ten, with most of the gain early.
